The transfer of US Destroyer Dyson (DD-572) to the Federal Republic of Germany took place at the United States Naval Base Charleston (Pier A), South Carolina, in February 1960. It was celebrated in two phases: The Transfer Ceremony and the Commissioning Ceremony.
